Long story short (not that short actually 🙈) my daughter has suffered with recurrent ear infections since she was 11 months. She’s now 15 months. She’s had 6 courses of antibiotics (4 different kinds) & antibiotic ear drops but it just keeps returning. It’s sometimes one ear at a time but other times it’s both. Currently it’s both with thick green discharge coming out of them. She has been referred to ENT but haven’t heard anything yet. Doc isn’t keen to give her more antibiotics so we have almond oil drops and Otomize spray, which seems pointless as her ears are so full nothing is probably getting in.
She is fine within herself during the day but I think they must be hurting her at night as she’s been sleeping terribly. We’re not due to see the doc again until the 10th April. Apart from the usual ibuprofen or calpol is there anything else that may help her? I don’t think this is something that’ll go away on its own so I think another course of antibiotics is inevitable. Do I bite the bullet and just get her on more now or do I wait to see the doc by which time she might become quite unwell with a temp etc? Any advice?
