Give me your input/advice/experiences/anecdotes...

My LO started nursery and since October it's been:

Covid
Chicken pox
HF&M
Tonsillitis that Would. Not. Go. Away.
And now a chest infection.

In between all this, there's also been the constant runny nose and random viral rashes!

I'm a nervous wreck hovering around with a thermometer all the time. Pleeeeeeaaaaase tell me it gets better.

I have no experience but I'm in the same boat. 😩😩
Started nursery September, never had antibiotics before this. Now on her 4th course since October! This is for a chest infection.
Lingering viral illnesses that have turned bacterial!
I hope we get some breathing space as the finer weather come!!

My DS started nursery Sept 21 and spent the whole year ill. Started reception in Sept 22 and was ok until mid December, when he then caught the mother of all viruses and hasn't been properly well since. Just finishing another course of antibiotics. I hope this is it now. I have gone from someone generally healthy to picking up all his germs too 😫 Complete sympathy OP

@Leakingtoilet Love the username Grin It's so horrible isn't it? You know what they're like when they're well and you're just willing them to get back to that. And they will eventually, it's just horrible for all going through it.

@MoserRothOrangeandAlmond Oh since the tonsillitis kicked off in January I've never seen as many antibiotics!
I'm currently at the stage of sleeping on her bedroom floor to make sure she's still breathing Confused

When I saw your thread title I thought ‘I bet the child is under 2’! It does get better, promise!

We’re in the same boat with my 3 year old! Constantly ill since starting childcare in October. Horrible tonsillitis in November / December which took weeks to clear but his tonsils remained huge and some small white spots .. now it’s back with a vengeance again. I’m an anxious mess!!

hope your little one picks up soon.

n33dmor3sl33p · 27/03/2023 21:34

@WorriedMumZZ oh I'm so sorry this is happening to you and your LO too. It's horrific isn't it? The amount of relief I get when she's well after a bout of illness is huge... but then the dread that I know the next one is around the corner...

Same here with my 3 year old, constantly I'll since starting nursery last year. Friday she was on the sofa with a temperature all day, wouldn't eat a thing. Then Saturday the same but she was a bit worse. Yesterday a lot better but still not right. Today she seemed better, although still not eating much, this afternoon she kept falling asleep and now this evening and tonight she's come down with terrible diarrhoea!

I am on my knees with this, my three year old has been constantly unwell since Christmas. And it’s now all starting again with something else as we speak. I’ve got tonsillitis myself and can’t seem to recover because every single night is broken sleep with his illnesses. I am so tired of him being ill and miserable constantly. I was thinking of a second but I do not think I can do this again.

@strugglingwithlife @Itsrudemeghan my condolences to both of you! Honestly it's so rubbish, we're really having a tough time of it over here too. I hope everyone starts feeling a bit better soon

My 19mo started childcare in sept. Until Xmas we just had colds...a constant stream of them. Since Jan the illnesses have upped the ante and we've had HFM, multiple tummy bugs and a houseful of Covid 😬😬😬😬. Every time I think surely we are due some better luck soon. It is relentless, stressful and exhausting. Both of us work and our time off is through the roof with all the time out of childcare.

sazzt · 28/03/2023 22:48

Oh, and ear and throat infections too since Jan. I can only hope spring brings better health!!!
