Weird sickness bug

Hey has anyone else’s child got a weird sickness bug?
so my son threw up in the early hours of Wednesday morning, nothing all day Wednesday, threw up again Thursday night, nothing all day Thursday, nothing Friday, nothing today all day, but then he has just thrown up again tonight! When I say nothing in between the sick episodes, he has had diarrhoea on and off since Wednesday.
anyone else!? Strange how he is only being sick during the night

Quite a few 5-7 day gastro bugs flying around just now, sounds like it’s just running it’s course and he’s handling it well. I wouldn’t worry at all unless it lasted more than 10 days x

Thanks lovely really appreciate you commenting. He is suppose to be going to the England match at Wembley tomorrow, his first football match! He is beyond excited. I will be gutted if he can’t go and he will be devastated

Yes, all 3 of mine have had this, dd is away at uni and had the same and both boys had it about 7 days apart. Once they feel better, they then have been sick again in the night seemingly from nowhere.

Yes DS had this (5). Sick Monday night, Weds morning l, Frisbee morning. So hard to tell if he’s better or not.

Oh no! How exciting! Terrible timing. If he’s well in himself during the day I’d probably still let him go no fever, not actively unwell ie vomiting) wearing a mask, but whatever you are comfortable with 💞

May baby had this too. Sick twice, two days apart, and some diarrhoea in between. She’s almost herself again a week later. I guess it’s better than the traditional puking for 24 hours solid but it’s definitely weird.

Partner and I caught it off her and narrowly avoided vomiting at all, which was fortunate.

Hope they’re feeling better soon

Trixiedrum · 25/03/2023 23:03

I wouldn’t send him to a football match the day after he was throwing up though, it’d be rough if he was ill there, and they spread so easily

My daughter had something similar over new year. It was like really spaced out over 7 days. She wasn't really unwell in herself. It lasted 7 days then I caught a sickness and flu for a week aswell xxx

Essexgirlupnorth · 25/03/2023 23:30

Yep my daughter had that was sick in the night every night for 5 nights was fine in day. Ended up having a week off school did take her to GP in end he said sometimes sickness bugs just went on that long.

We've only had 2 bouts (so far!): puked at nursery on Thurs afternoon so was sent home, but seemed totally fine so we thought just a one off. Then Fri late afternoon started puking again and was really quite unwell overnight. Seemed much better today so 🤞🤞🤞

My youngest has this. Fine all day Wednesday, went to bed Wednesday night and vomited an hour later, it's been on and off until this afternoon. Seems to be worse during the night. Hoping that's the end of it! He's still had an appetite and he hasn't had a fever. Complained of a sore tummy, and he's had diarrhoea on and off. He's really tired though. It's just bug after bug in this house and has been since October Confused.

My daughter 11 has had a sickness and diarrhoea bug since a week past Tuesday. On her 12th day now. Always at night. Been to out of hours and the gp. Have to hand in a stool sample on Monday. It’s awful
