my baby had diarrhea for 2 weeks now the doctor does know what's causing it. the test for his stools cane back negative. he has 10 nappies a day which smells like vinagery he has no temperature and doesn't look unwell. However he has lost a bit of weight. Has anyone got any experience or advice

My DD was very similar; long lasting bouts of diarrohea, very obvious mucus in her stool and negative results when tested. Has your baby had bloods done? My DD was coeliac (only diagnosed when she was 5 after 3 years of issues)

I would ask for another stool sample to be done, my son had this around the same age as was rotavirus lasted about 3 weeks and just had to keep him hydrated. Luckily he was vaccinated so apart from the diarrhoea and discomfort of that he was ok. Check with the doctor first but mine told me to give him diorolite plus (I think it called) as that new one had corn starch in it so helps to bind the stool a bit doesn't stop it like Imodium or anything just firms it up a bit for Comfort. And also helps with hydration xx

how long did go on for and why was your child not tested earlier. and apart from diarrhea did she have rush in the body? or any signs of allergy

I will request another test. diorolite plus was not given because of his age the doctor said. he has not been vaccinated for rotavirus. they said if it doesn't stop the wil send him for blood tests
