What is this?

This appeared on my daughters foot after a football match so I assumed it was some sort of blood filled blister - but it's still there! It looks like dried blood underneath but I'm not sure. Any ideas?

Looks like a blood blister underneath hard skin.

Yes, I agree it looks like a kind of blood blister/deep bruise. A bleed under one of the lower layers of skin. Because the skin there is so thick, they can stay for weeks and weeks, basically till all the relevant layers of skin have fallen off. I've had one like that which lasted about 3 months.
