Mild chicken pox?

My daughter has about 6 spots. It looked to me like she'd been bitten by something rather than chicken pox and she's had them since last Thursday and they've not increased in volume since. I also asked a doctor friend of mine and she said it doesn't look like chicken pox.

School are worried it is chicken pox. She's not been unwell at all and because we aren't seeing an increase in spots I've pushed back on her coming home. I've said if they are very concerned I'll pick her up but with two day strikes coming, if she doesn't have it she is missing the best part of a week of school.

How do I tell if it is chicken pox and is it possible to basically have barely any spots and no signs of illness?

Well she's now been sent home because she has a single spot which still doesn't look like chicken pox to me!
