Hi , my dd had an impacted canine which was very complex to extract , however she had surgery last week so is recovering it was quite traumatic and she had a swollen bruised face afterwards .

I had a call a few days ago from the dental hospital that they’ll be in touch soon to take moulds and fit an expander 😱
Im no expert but my dd still can’t eat properly and I feel that she needs recovery time .
Does anyone have any experience of dental expanders please? I’ve read that they are very uncomfortable to start with , especially the spacers . Do expanders change the shape of the face ? Any advice greatly appreciated Thankyou
