Could it be teething causing this?

First off I will be booking a GP appointment on Monday. Just wondering if anyone can shed any light before then.
Last 3 days 8 month old has been fine until he's suddenly developed a temp (38), got really upset and then thrown up spectacularly (literally everywhere) and then 5 mins later he's fine again. So he's only been sick once each day.
He has a few teeth coming through and my mum thinks it could be that.
Any ideas??

My DC had this every time they cut a tooth until about age 7 for my DS, but it stopped earlier for DD. I think I consulted a doctor the first time it happened but he reassured me it was most likely teething and sure enough a tooth came through a day or two later.

Thank you. Did anything help?
