Norovirus - should I be worried?!

Heya, my son has got what I presume to be norovirus over the weekend. He was frequently sick Saturday night but then wasn’t sick again until Tuesday night (but had diarrhoea during this time) then after that episode he’s been fine. I’ve kept him off school just incase but I was hoping he’d be back in tomorrow… until he was just sick again. He seems fine in himself, no temp but bit of a reduced appetite. Is it normal for a norovirus to be so off and on again and be so drawn out?! I caught it a couple of days ago as well so I’m fairly certain it’s viral.

Yes! When my ds had it in December it went on for the best part of a week! He was literally sick every other night, go to bed thinking he was fine and then suddenly he would wake up being sick! He was back to normal after a week

We’ve not long got over this. It’s really really nasty this year.

I had diarrhoea for over a week, awful gastritis pain too. I was sick as much but I did think I was getting better twice before it came back again. It felt like forever!

lots and lots of fluids! X

Yep. Fairly normal
100% no school tomorrow

Thank you for getting back to me! It’s so frustrating as he is absolutely full of beans otherwise and clearly getting bored (plus I’m supposed to be in the office 😩) but don’t worry, I definitely won’t be taking him to school tomorrow! I was thinking he was fine for school but obviously that changed the moment he was sick again. Led to some tears as there’s a non uniform day tomorrow and I had made him a hat for it that he wanted to show his friends :(

My 4 year old has gotten it just now. We have been on the sofa the last 2 nights. 1st night she couldn't keep nothing down then most the day yesterday thought she was ok then started againg after tea time. Its taken her energy this time she gets bursts of it then just crashes. Its horrible bug to have and cant wait till its gone.
