Ring worm...when does it get better?

D4 has what we now think is ring worm

She's had it for months untreated as I originally thought it was nappy rash from her wearing nighttime pull ups. So I tested it with sudacream. It became worse so I tried an emollient cream but obviously it didn't do anything.

In this time it changed and looked like the standard ring worm with a ring around each patch. Google said go to the pharmacy which we did and got clotromizle cream. It's been two weeks now and I don't think it looks any better at all.

(We are washing all bedding/cutting her nails and changing pyjamas every night)
Does anyone know how long it takes to begin to get better?

Might be time to try and get a gp appointment, I had it once on my leg and the OTC cream started working very quickly, within days.

Dd had a really persistent ringworm when she was a toddler. Just keep putting on the anti fungal cream as often as you can. Make sure you get it on all the places you can see the marks. If it’s been more than a few weeks it might be worth seeing the GP. They might be able to prescribe something stronger- if I remember correctly they wouldn’t give us anything stronger than the over the counter stuff because my Dd was too young. Anyway we went through several tubes of cream but it did eventually stop coming back!

My daughter's looked a lot better within 24h. I'd ask the pharmacist what to do next. I suspect they will suggest you see a GP.

Why washing the bedding and nail cutting etc?

As in that's the advice for threadworms but ringworm is not the same.
