Strawberry tongue, but doc says not scarlet fever

I’ll say first up that I’m not normally one to question the verdict of a medical professional. However, today after a lot of faffing about with 111, eventually ended up in urgent care with DD2 as we suspected scarlet fever. She came out in a fine rash yesterday evening, 24 hours after having a really sore throat and high temp, and her tongue looks like the the attached pic. Admittedly, her rash has now almost disappeared, and she’s feeling fine, but her tongue looks like every picture I’ve had come up for scarlet fever. Doc in urgent care was adamant it’s not that. Would you seek a second opinion in this instance? (As I said, DD2 is not poorly anymore, but I’m worried about potential long-term complications you read about with sf.)

Did the doc say what they think it is, if it's not scarlet fever?

@PositiveLife he said the rash was post-viral, but didn‘t really comment on the tongue at all.

If now feeling fine, temp and sore throat gone and rash almost gone too it’s unlikely to be strep A / scarlet fever, that’s not a 24hour bug. If throat looks fine and no white spots and rash gone it’s much more likely to be viral. I wouldn’t worry xx

Thanks @wobblymum1 . We did end up taking her to be seen somewhere else today as the rash got worse again, and the new doctor said highly likely to be scarlet fever, so she is now on antibiotics.

Does the rash feel like sandpaper? As apparently this is a sign of SF
