Could this be the start? He's had a runny nose and cough for a week now been off food today and diarrhoea. Now these...

It certainly could be, there's a lot of it about, my daughter has just had it. Started with a handful of tiny spots like those on her chest (first ones are usually on the torso I think) and then they were everywhere! I expect you'll know for sure in a day or two. If it is we got through it with oat baths, calpol, virasoothe and poxclin (tried both but think either is good!) Hope it's not too bad, it's horrid when they're poorly.

Day 1 spots versus day 4 spots

Thanks for that advice. He actually asked to go to bed tonight so not at all well. I've given calpol for now as he was sore. A waiting game I guess

Aww poor thing. How is he this morning?

Lcw29 · 22/02/2023 08:52

Well last night he started vomiting and screaming. He came out in hives on his face and neck . We ended up calling 111 as the rash was really strange. They saw him but said it was likely a viral gastrointestinal bug. He had a brief temperature overnight but this morning seems a bit better. He's eaten some toast and kept it down. I'm Bit exhausted now but hopefully he's on the mend. 🙄

Glad he was seen, hope he's properly better soon!

Well he ended up like this a day or so later. Ot came up within minutes and his eye became swollen .Went to hospital and they said its something viral causing hives. Gave antihistamine to bring down swelling.

However over weekend he's been really irritable. Today he cried for 40mins without a reason. I'm following my gut and calling the doctor as something isn't right.

Oh no, how is he now? Sorry only just replying, hope you got him seen again and things are better. X

Lcw29 · 04/03/2023 07:50

That's OK. Thankfully he's fine now. We did see the doctor just to make sure but have been told to keep the antihistamine handy . They do think it's a viral reaction but need to keep an eye on it

I'm glad he's better now, hope it doesn't happen again, it's scary when they're ill and you don't know why.
