My 3 year old has had conjunctivitis coming up a week today I started her on the antibiotic drops for her eyes straight away and it took the redness down but still gets sticky in the morning and night time never really changed since starting the drops ( in both eyes ) I took her to gp yesterday who said to continue the drops for 2 more days but I still can’t see any improvement? Gp also pointed out yesterday that she has tonsillitis but she has never complained of any throat pain !?? So she is also on a course of antibiotics for her throat

She might just be re-infecting herself, make sure you wash her pillows and sheets daily and use a new towel each time.

Alternatively, it might start clearing up better with the anti-bs for the throat.

As pp are you washing bedding daily etc?

Also, cooled boiled water and bathe the eye several times a day.
Cotton wool, one swipe of the eye and bin that bit and then use another etc.

Are they definitely infected? Are they sore? Lots of sticky thick discharge?

My daughter will always get sticky, red eyes if she's got a virus but has only once needed chlorophenicol. We usually let them run their course and bathe with salt water.
