Baby has a red itchy neck fold

Hi everyone. DD2 has always had a discoloured neck fold which I have consulted to different GPs all of them seem unconcerned saying it's very common. But since last week she's been itching it crazy and it has gone red. I had an appointment with the GP who prescribed her an anti-fungal ointment named Miconazole. It's been a couple of days I have been using it but not yet seeing results. She's having poor quality sleep and keeps itching it the entire night randomly. Her itching has effected my sleep as well as we cosleep. Any tips please? Also has anyone ever used Miconazole? Does it really help?

Yes. It takes a wee while but it does work. Need to keep neck fold as dry as possible so frequent changes of bibs etc

can you keep the area as clean & dry as possible, and maybe make her sleep in mittens so she can't itch it?

Canesten for athlete's foot is very fast and effective for fungal skin issues but it may not be recommended for babies.

@parietal I have canesten at home. I'll check over with Dr.Google whether it's suitable for babies. Thanks!

I'd also use canesten instead if the miconazole wasn't helping after a few days. Canesten was approved by a paediatrician for my baby's fungal nappy rash, as he was allergic to the fragrance in the cream he'd been prescribed.
