White nails on 3 Yr old

My 3 YO has a few nails that have a thick white horizontal line across the tips + she has quite brittle nails. I know it can simply be from trauma but just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this? I took her to the pharmacist who said can be something to do with calcium or zinc and to take her to the dr. Which I will but appt is six weeks! So just thought I'd ask on here in the meantime

Is she otherwise well OP? I think white lines on nails are mostly benign (happy to be corrected!) and I'm not sure I'd bother with a gp appointment for that. If you have concerns about calcium or other vitamins why not try a kids multivitamin?

Forgot to add, to test for calcium zinc levels it's going to involve a blood test, which I imagine is a lot more upsetting for a 3 year old than a couple of lines on their nails
