Sickness bug on holiday

We have 4 children, aged 7 months, 2, 7 & 10. All good today, at bedtime 7 yo said her tummy was sore. Poor thing has just been sick in loo. Was sleeping in bed with 2 & 10 year old before that. Now she's in bed with husband as we are lucky to have a spare bedroom in this holiday house.

He had a dodgy stomach today but seemed to pick up tonight and ate dinner.

Are we all going to get it? (I am an ex emetophobe so still struggle with this a bit.)
Feel really bad for her. (I am in another bed with the baby in another room.) Please send any advice / reassurance or maybe I just need to relax about it!!

Thanks in advance.Wink

Not necessarily, lots of washing, if your bottle feeding the baby do you have Milton tablets or something to use to clean?

I remember one of my DDs getting a bad V & D bug on holiday, I was the only one to get it too but I’m immune compromised so it was fully expected. DH was the one to share a bed with her and he was fine, other DD & baby (about 7 months) were both fine too.

One of mine used to be sick every time we went away. In the end I put it down to a change of routine and diet. I hope the rest of you escape it.

@AliceMcK
I'm so sorry you both went through that, I'm glad the others avoided it. Your message was a real comfort last night, it gave me some hope, thank you ♥️.

(I started to reply but gave the phone to 7 yo to listen to a relaxation track. Then later on baby was sick too 😢 but she's feeding again now so really hoping those two are past the worst of it.)

@spinachmonster i hope everyone is ok today and you get to enjoy the rest of your holiday. Totally get the phone, my 5yo has had possession of mine most of the day, anything for peace during the school holidays!

Probably not that reassuring, but we had this with DD on holiday last year, she was sick several times that evening/night but none of us caught it… about 36hours later chicken pox spots appeared all over her. So it’s not guaranteed to be a sickness bug I guess! We were in a b&b and it was a nightmare trying not to ruin the carpets and bedding in there. I hope it passes quickly OP.

Thank you so much for the messages @AliceMcK @Coffeellama. (Sorry I only just saw them).

I think we were really lucky as actually aside from stomach ache, we all avoided it!! Our 7yo was fine by breakfast the next day which was brilliant and the baby did have it for a few days but is better now. Thanks so much, it felt like we managed to save most of the holiday! Goes to show worrying doesn't help 😆.

Sorry to hear about your daughter and chickenpox, but it's a good point. Thanks again for the support ♥️
