How long has it being going on for @Chans11 and what milk is she having?

JuneOsborne · 11/02/2023 08:54

You could try her with some warm fennel tea, if there's no underlying cause.

We were advised to use soya when full fat caused constipation. So she has 2 bottles of soya and dairy in yogs and cereal etc

Advising you to use Soya is a bit odd. Roughly half of all children and adults with Cow's Milk Protein Allergy also have a problem with Soy protein.

Are you in the UK and have you been referred to a Paediatric Dietician? Sounds like you might need to cut out all dairy and soya for at least a couple of welts to see if she improves.

I agree the soya could be your issue. Give some of the others a go - DS seems ok with oat milk, but there are loads available now to try.

I have since read this and tried her on Alpro oat milk but wouldnt take to it. I have brought Oatly so will try today!

no referral as drs keep saying she will grow out of it and health visitor was one who advice soya milk. I will push for drs appointment this week as its getting ridiculous

When was on the cows milk in bottles aswel she was very constipated and has always had wind. Since switching to soya the stools started being more solid but are now very loose (she is teething) and wind seems to have gotten worse at night. Shes has eczema but not a large amount

Sounds like she has typical symptoms of CMPA to me. I'd ask the GP for a referral to a Paediatric Dietician and cut out all dairy and soy.

Will contact them tomorrow thank you. She has always suffered with wind since a newborn but was told it was colic

she also slept through between 6m-12m and now wakes numerous times a night due to the wind

thanks again
