Worried there is something wrong with my child

DD (almost 4) has been poorly since before Xmas. We have had a bug every week. Flu like virus, sick bugs, colds, now a hacking cough/throat infection she has been given antibiotics for.
I have health anxiety which isn't helping but I'm just terrified there is something wrong. She had a blood test done 2.5 months ago with regards to a separate issue, they did a full blood count which was fine, I keep trying to reassure myself is anything was wrong that would have shown something up but then maybe things can change in 2.5 months?
I've actually booked her a Doctors app I'm so worried about her always being poorly. I feel like I'm going slowly mad. I also keep thinking I have a 'feeling' something isn't right but then I'm also not sure if that is just the anxiety.
Has anyone else felt like this? Anything I should specifically request at the Doctors? 💐

It's really not unusual for kids that age to have a virus every week over winter, particularly since they missed out on building their immune systems during covid. I don't think there's anything you've said that would make me worried especially because of the blood tests. Hang on tight for spring and maybe seek help for your anxiety Flowers

@touterustome thank you for your kind message.
It's other things too, like telling me her tummy hurts almost every day since she first got ill in December. She's already done it this morning. Then it's 'I'm tired' when she's only been awake 2 hours. I appreciate she's poorly atm
& more likely to be tired, I'm just finding the whole thing exhausting & not sure whether I'm overreacting or not.

No harm in going to the GP to check. With the tummy aches, could it be related to anxiety? (Especially if you are anxious?)

binbum · 04/02/2023 07:14

@touterustome A possibility but she's really not an anxious kid & I'm very careful to not show my anxiety around her. This morning she's already said twice her tummy hurts & had a very loose poo but that could be down to the antibiotics, despite only starting them yesterday & me throwing probiotics at her also!

My now teenager was like this. I remember being in tears about it at a similar age to hour child and convinced there was an underlying illness. He was just ill so often. People reassured me they’d been through the same and that he’d be fine and he was.

I’d recommended really good (artificial sweetener free!) multivitamins and decent probiotics. My child was a lot better when we cut out dairy as it just seemed to fill him with mucus and didn’t have a great effect on his immune system.

I know how you feel, my kids have been on/off sick since before Christmas and my anxiety has been high since then
I always think the worst is going to happen with the illness they have and that something doesn't seem right
My kids school rang the other day and I literally nearly had a full blown panic attack because of the thoughts that came into my head

I know that's not helpful to you but your not alone Flowers

@solomonsfish85 Hugs to you, it's horrible isn't it. I get children get poorly but it's just not stopped the last month & a half for us.

My baby was born on 29 09 2023 via c section he was 2 weeks early Due to low aminotic fluid since birth he has been a very calm baby he is now 5 weeks old but sleeps all day he hardly wakes up. He wakes up every 2 3 hour for feed when he cries like he has been hungry from hours. I worry about him too much keep goggling everything and then I worry may be he has autism even though he doesn't show any sign other than being a sleepy baby.
Am I worrying too much bcoz I keep checking hus breath if he sleep quietly
