4 month old with really oily scalp

Hi, first time posting so hope I’m doing it right, but I really don’t know where else to try!

My 4 month old baby has a really oily scalp and I’m completely out of ideas of how to treat it.

It started as cradle cap, but as she’s rubbed it off, it’s become red and is constantly dripping with oil. It beads on her head, just like sweat would, and soaks through anything I put over it, hats, bandages etc.

I’ve taken her to the doctors several times, they are just treating it as cradle cap and have prescribed aqueous cream and said to brush off the patches of cradle cap and keep it covered with a bandage if she is rubbing it off. The cradle cap goes, but the oil remains no matter what I do.

She has now been referred to a dermatologist, but I’ve been told this can take months. It’s really bothering her and she is constantly rubbing her head, and it’s just generally really unpleasant for her to have her head permanently covered in oil. I can’t even kiss her head without getting wet, and it’s soaking through onto my clothes and her car seat, play mat etc. She also now has eczema on her face.

I’ve tried Googling it and it doesn’t even seem to be a thing with anyone else!

Has anyone experienced anything like this?
