Random high temp

Asking for info/interest.

Last night DD 10 months had a random high temp. Noticed just before bedtime she was very warm, temp was 38.8. gave calpol and observed over evening, slept ok but restless and temp didn't seem to be coming down. Decided to sleep in with her and gave more calpol at around 1230. Her temp seemed to hit 40 (I say seemed because every thermometer we have seems completely unreliable) she was definitely really hot.

She slept with me holding her til about 4, when she felt a lot cooler so put her down to sleep, got a few hours myself.

She seems a little tired this morning, but pretty much back to normal, temp 36.7. Had her usual morning bf feed and a bit of toast. Now playing with the thermometer and calpol box.

Is this normal? DD5 has famously only had a temp twice so this is new territory for me.
