My little boy was really poorly in November/ December with back to back infections and different antibiotics etc ..

He had a bit of a cold last week, but today has a temperature and is not himself, he plays for half hour or so ,then wants to lie down and watch TV. He is drinking but not eating. Temp comes with eith calpol / nurofen

I'm sure it's common , but every time it happens I'm so worried. He goes to nursery (1st year there) so I'm sure he's picking it up from there.

Please someone just reassure me that this is quite normal? Absolutely hate it when he's poorly and i am such a worrier and get so paranoid and anxious

Absolutely normal. They’re are so many winter viruses and this year is particularly bad!

I'm afraid this is totally normal. It might be COVID. DS has just had this (high temp) and like yours had two courses of antibiotics in 6 months.

There was quite a big decline this afternoon after me thinking he was slightly better.

Sore belly ,shivering and cold hands and feet on and off. I rang 111 and now I'm waiting in a walk in centre 😢 all the questions they were asking were related to meningitis, so now I'm freaking out

Well after me thinking he was on the mend , he woke up vomiting last night and this morning 😢 no temp, and seems OK in himself but can't believe he's not getting sick !

It’s normal particularly in the year or two after starting nursery. But still absolutely horrible. DD’s illness pushed me so far I drafted a letter to hand in my notice (didn’t send but so close). Sadly no advice but to ride it out - and if you can keep him off an extra day after he seems ‘better’ to enable him to rest.

@Cuppasoupmonster Thank you for your reassurance ! He only goes to nursery Monday- Wednesday so I won't send him back to next week!

Thankfully I'm on maternity leave so not having to worry about ringing work! Otherwise it would be a nightmare! Praying he doesn't pass it onto his little sister as well 🤦‍♀️

Poor thing never gets a break bless him
