Tips for getting alert 4 month old to nap

I'm relying on breastfeeding atm and even that doesn't alway work.

I'm darkening the room, white noise on etc but struggling!

He sleeps 7pm-7am and usually has an hour in the morning, an hour on a walk but it's the afternoon nap I struggle with.

I can see he's agitated so I think it's needed.

I'm conscious that feeding to sleep isn't ideal either as it develops an association?

Any tips would be great as I'm a ftm.

Hi @firsttimemum12345678 , looks like you never got any replies :-/ Sucks when they happens. I found your message when trying to see what others were doing with their 4/5 month old that don’t want to nap. Mine is 18 weeks now and just won’t nap at all without a LOT of help and recently even that help is a real struggle. Like you, even breastfeeding to sleep doesn’t really seem to work anymore. Especially for that third nap but he just seems sooo tried. Did anything end up working for you in the end? Or did your little one just grow out of it. According to that wonder weeks app thing he is still in a difficult phase which should stop in a few days but im weary to just wait and trust that it’ll stop (especially because it’s exhausting!)

hope you are doing well now as it’s been a few months and are having a dream child in terms of naps 😉

The night sleep is fantastic at 4 months! For the third nap of the day, I'd put them in the car and drive round for a bit. Or a brisk pram walk.

3 cot naps a day can be a lot of effort for you in terms of settling them.
