DD has been on this for 2 days,

I've never heard of the above and have never given an antibiotic so brightly coloured.
Have your DC been on it? Have they been ok?

DD seems quite bothered since taking it. Tummy aches, extremely red cheeks and crying a lot

Just winder if it could be a sort of reaction?

Ds reacted to a few antibiotics with tummy ache, so it could well be a reaction, but they won't necessarily be better on another, and this one may be the best for their infection.

I’ve just started on this antibiotic - first time I’ve take it. One thing I’ve noticed is that it’s given me acid reflux which has been really uncomfortable. Maybe it’s something like that.

My daughter (5) was prescribed this once and she said it tasted 'like fire' and gave her 'sore throat burps' so I think it could be quite acidic but it did work and treat her infection at the time. I tasted it and it was vile, much worse than the usual yellow banana amoxicillin

DD had this a few weeks ago, although in tablet form. They were incredibly bitter but other than that no major side effects compared to other antibiotics she’s had over the years. A good tip though is to make sure she’s sitting up for a good half hour after she takes them, helps to prevent the acid reflux that some antibiotics cause
