Itchy Penis

My almost 3yo has started to get a really itchy penis at night, to the point where he rubs it so hard it would fall off if it could.
I don’t know what to do about it, it’s fine in the day only a problem at night.
He is wearing pants in the day and nappies at night.
It looks fine, there’s no obvious problem.
Anyone got any recommendations?

Check for threadworms, they cause itching at night. Might be worth treating him with Ovex anyway to see if it helps.

It's particularly hard when you don't try.

Have you recently changed washing powder or bath products. I have issues with sensitivity and find itching is always worse at night, I think because in the daytime you are distracted from it!

People are encouraged to seek advice if the situation is minor so it's perfectly reasonable to ask. It may be something simple like washing powder or allergy to the nappy. If it's threadworms then she clearly have a discussion with the chemist

Is he circumcised or uncircumcised? Is it itchy on their foreskin ( uncircumcised ) or on the glands ( circumcised )? If he is uncircumcised has he or someone been trying to retract his foreskin which would stretch the skin at the tip and probably make it a bit itchy?
