8 year old is autistic and has always walked with his feet turned in. He wears insoles in his shoes provided by orthotics at the hospital although that doesn't seem to help much. His walking is really very odd, although he doesn't seem bothered by it. At parents evening last week his teacher asked about it and pointed out one side was a lot worse than the other. Which I hadn't noticed.
When he was born he needed resuscitation for quite a while. The Drs said they did a test (I think it was something to do with cord gases) which said he wasn't deprived of oxygen but I'm now wondering if they missed something and he has cerebral palsy or something similar. He also had an ultrasound scan of his brain at 5 days old but nothing since then. He was late with his physical milestones but not very late, he sat up aged 12 months and walked at 2 years 3 months. He was born just over 3 weeks early and had neonatal sepsis and jaundice.
