Child losing top front tooth first

My son will turn 5 in one month and has just lost his first tooth. He’s the first in his class to lose a tooth, but what has shocked me is that he has lost one of his top front teeth. I thought the bottom middle teeth were usually the first ones to go?

His teeth are very clean and healthy, so this tooth hasn’t fallen out due to decay or anything like that. We have an appointment in a few weeks with the dentist, but I just wanted to know if anyone else’s child has lost one of their top teeth first?

My dd turned 4 when she lost her front tooth, dentist said it was normal. She is 18 now and got the perfect teeth. Her dentist told her that. 9

The front top are the second ones to come in, I believe they usually lose them roughly in the order they came in.

Have you heard the song 'All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth'?

The first 4 teeth that normally fall out are the first two top and first two bottom. It doesn't matter what order.

The average age is 6 which means some are younger and some older.

Pl ass don't worry. Your child is completely normal.

Thanks. It’s reassuring to know that other kids have lost their top teeth first. Was just a bit of a shock, I wasn’t ready! 😂😢
