Reflux or CMPA?

Hi all, I've had good advice on here before so am hoping someone will be able to advise. My DS is 8 weeks old and since about 4 weeks he has suffered with reflux. His symptoms were gagging/retching, congestion, vomiting after feeds, hiccups and lots of coughing and sneezing. I spoke to the GP who suggested a few things like raising the bed of the cot, holding him up after feeds etc - I did all of these but also cut out dairy from my diet (he's EBF) and the reflux was pretty much gone. He has not been medicated for the reflux. I accidentally had some dairy on Saturday and all the symptoms have come back - he's been really phlegmy, lots of vomiting again, retching waking him up. But then last night and this morning he has been cluster feeding (randomly, as I thought he'd had his 6 week growth spurt) so we're clearly out of routine at the moment which could explain this?

So my question is, does anyone with a CMPA baby think he has this or is it simply reflux that has been coming/going and the changes to my diet are a coincidence? Does reflux come and go as babies develop? I understand CMPA is rare in EBF babies so would be grateful to hear from anyone with a similar experience. I've got our 8 week check at the GP on weds so if there's some sort of test I can request/anything specific I can ask I would love to hear from people here?

Thanks all x

Did you ever find out? My 7 week old is doing this. It’s very scary.
