Hi just after some advice before freaking out and calling gp boy 2.5 eats like a horse but has hard poo and looks red anyone experienced similar.
he’s fine in himself eating drinking etc just getting over chicken pox too

We’ve had that a few times. When I saw GP he said if blood is bright red then its fresh which means an anal fissure (basically a hard bit of poo scratched a bit of his gut on the way through). Can be caused by constipation or diarrhoea.

If is dark blood like tar then that is old and more serious and you should ask a GP to investigate asap.

Yours looks like fresh blood to me.

You can also get this effect from eating beetroot.
