Help… Is this chickenpox infected?

DS (4) has terrible chickenpox and I think one may be infected. The out of house doctor was supposed to call back 4 hours ago. Please could someone tell me if this looks like it is healing or infected. His temp is 37.9 but was 39 last night.

I don't know but it looks just like when ds had it at 18 months, he was covered in them. Lots of cool salt baths helped.

It is a pretty medieval illness. The Pox does look like that. It’s grim.

It all looks a bit red and angry so could be. My dcs never had it as bad as that. Remember not to use ibuprofen with CP as it can worsen the skin issues.

Classic signs of infection:
Worsening and spreading red area
Read area is warm or hot to touch
Increased pain at the affected area
Fever and feeling unwell (masked by the CP in this case of course)
Sometimes but not always pus may be present
