Potential chicken pox

About two days ago we noticed a few spots on my 1 year old little boy then a couple more shown up in the afternoon so we assumed it was chicken pox. Then yesterday morning more appeared. There quite small and not blistered. We went to the pharmacist last night and she said it doesn't look like chicken pox so we rang the doctors this morning and he said over the phone he wouldn't be able to diagnose it as there not raised or blistered. Does anyone know what it could be or whether it still looks like chicken pox just not blistering? There all over his body not just in one place
Thanks

My DD had hand foot and mouth at 6 months old, i thought it was chicken pox but they weren't raised or blistered, doctor diagnosed hfm but it was everywhere, all over her body she just caught a really bad case

Where did they start?
Chickenpox tends to first appear on the torso.

Dont look poxy, more like molluscum contagiosum?

Kiwikea · 29/12/2022 20:27

Thank you.

With hand foot and mouth would it definitely be on their hands and feet too cause he hasn't got any spots on them?

I noticed one on his face first and then the ones by his collarbone and neck next then on body.

What's molluscum contagiosum? When I Google it it's brings up quite bag photos but it doesn't look anything near as bad.

if i remember correctly DDs started on her belly, then her face then hands and feet, she really was covered, all in her mouth and tongue poor thing, then 6 months later she caught chicken pox off her sister 🙄

Chicken pox starts on the torso and works it’s way outwards.
hand foot and mouth is more blister like so I’d rule that out.
any sickness or temp?
I wasn’t sure whether my eldest had chickenpox or molluscum - gp told me I’d soon find out. Within 3 days she was covered in chicken pox.

If you look closely at the pics a couple appear to have a head on them - this is what the chicken pox blisters looked like for us. They were fairly small and didn't crust over particularly (DS was a baby if it's relevant) If it is CP then they will probably continue appearing for the next day or so.
