Impetigo

I'm so worried about my baby.
She has impetigo, and a fungal nappy rash which is really distressing her.
The impetigo started yesterday and the nappy rash has been on and off for a week or so but flared up yesterday too.
Been to the gp this morning who has prescribed oral antibiotics for the impetigo and fungal cream for the rash but I am beside myself as impetigo is caused my strep and I feel I should have taken better care of her eczema and then these nasties might not have got in.
I realise she's not the first baby in the world to have these ailments - she's almost 12 months and at nursery - but I'm fearing the worst.
Please can someone help me?

Really worried mum Sad

You can only do your best. These bacteria are in the environment and often on us. My daughter had impetigo twice in 6 months. The antibiotics are a pain (and taste horrid) but do the job. I also cleaned any toys which may come into contact with it

It's really not your fault.
I wasn't going to send my youngest to preschool before last week as it was the last week - and I didn't want him picking anything up before Christmas (a few cases of scarlet fever in his ps) but I needed to get things done - they had lots of fun things planned so I sent him as it's only 2 mornings a week. Low and behold today he's come down poorly with a phglemy constant tickly cough! We're really suffering this evening as he's unable to settle. I feel some sense of guilt but then he also has 2 big brothers and they could of been carrying some bugs from school also.. there's so much about you can't swerve it all, as annoying as it is. It's really not your fault! X
