Strep A Recovery

DS1 (9) has had a confirmed case of Strep A. Started the antibiotics last Tuesday (6th) and is about to finish the 10 day course.

He's feeling better than he did at the start but he can't shake the headache. It's been there for 10 days now. The GP saw him on Monday this week and gave him a thorough check over and just thinks it's taking him a bit longer to properly get over it. He went back to school yesterday and was in school today and is eating and drinking plenty but is so fed up of the sore head. Calpol doesn't seem to help much.

I just wondered if anyone else has experienced the ongoing headache or feeling unwell after Strep A and, if so, for how long? Thanks

Have you tried nurofen alternating with the Calpol xx

Thank you. We went back to neurofen and calpol yesterday and it did help a bit but he started running a temperature last night, so I'm now waiting for someone to answer my call to 111. I'm guessing the Strep hasn't cleared.

Bless him hope he’s ok. My boy has it too but still early days 😞
