Toddler sores on tongue & raspy throat

Hi

The last 2 days my toddler has complained about sores on her tongue - they look like ulcers and she's not eating much. This is coupled with a hoarse voice, cough and I noticed this evening her breath smells abit off. She's woke up moaning 2 nights now so I've given her medicine and rotating Calpol & ibuprofen. I am not sure if this is something I need to get checked at docs or if they will just think I'm mental (again) and tell me it's viral! Does anyone have any advice or anything I can get to help her? She's 2 and a half. Thanks!

Any blisters on her hands or feet?

Echo PP.. could potentially be HFM if there's blisters elsewhere? Also check the bum, HFM can also be present on the bum.

I would get her checked as a precaution.

Thanks for replying I initially thought this but she has no blisters anywhere else at all just sores in her mouth

Can you see the back of her throat? Could be strep if there’s a smell.

Or thrush, maybe. I think a trip to the pharmacist in the first instance would be a good idea.

I tried to but couldn't see she just shows me her tongue and says sore :( she seems more tired too so she's definitely battling with something! I think I'm going to get her an appointment tomorrow and get her seen

@MammaWeasel yeah could be, can thrush cause ulcer looking sores? I'm not too sure on it I thought it was white stuff on tongue Thankyou!
