Hi,

Looking for advice.

Tuesday evening i picked my toddler up from childcare and they had a temperature of 38.9.

Just before Bed we gave calpol. 2am in the morning i checked them and their temperature was 41.4. Rang 111 they sent an ambulance and we went to a+e. Temp went down to normal after ibuprofen, so we got discharged.

The next couple of days, child had a high temperature. Calpol (paracetmol) was not bringing it down but Ibuprofen was.

Friday, my child had no temperature all day and seemed back to their happy chatty self.

Cue today, they have had a temperature all day, fatigue and very clingy.

No obvious signs of sore throat or a rash. Any idea what this could be? Is it just a virus?

Just wanted to know if there is anything i should be looking out for?

If its still high tomorrow I would take him to be checked over again, do you have a walk in centre or out of hours gp saves going a&e might be a small infection water/ear. Another check over will put your mind at ease aswell.

Given that he's fatigued, clingy and clearly signs of being unwell with another spike in temp I'd try second opinion at out of hours x
