Is this okay for antibiotics?

My son is on penicillin. He's meant to have 4 x 5ml a day. He absolutely hates it, gags and spits it out. I can't ask the dr to change it as we struggles enough to get this one. He's to big to force it in and bribes don't work.

The only thing I have managed is to put 2.5ml in juice. Anymore than that he can taste it. I'm just worried I'm not spacing the doses out enough. For example he had 2.5ml about an hour ago but now he's off to bed so I need to give him another 2.5ml in a drink. Is this ok?

Ideally I'd try and give him a 5ml dose, I know it's a adore said than done but I'd personally give the 5ml in a syringe followed by a tsp Nutella / a sweet.

My 10yo dd is on a antibiotic that is grainy and has the most disgusting after taste, she is also asd and will only take it if followed by above.

I don't think it is ok to give them a smaller dose but more often.
My daughter was on an awful one a while back and she had it mixed in to a pot of
Joy twice a day!

But why do they make them taste SO awful!

My daughter had penicillin recently and we were told we could choose 4x2.5ml or 2x5ml per day, so I’m sure it’s fine to space out.

She had hers in a kids innocent smoothie with a chocolate afterwards as a bribe.
