Is this strawberry tongue?

No rash. Fever. Much better in herself since ibuprofen. Her tongue though...what do you think? It's not overly red though. She had oral thrush last week which had gone. So hard to know!

When mine had it, it was rough, like sandpaper. Is it really rough? No medical experience though.

One of the symptoms of scarlett fever - strep A? Keep a close eye.

@bilbodog yes strawberry tongue is a symptom. I've called 111, and they said OOH would be in touch within 6 hours, but they messaged saying it could now be up to 24h. I'll keep a close eye on her.

Is she ok ip? How you both getting in? white dots also suggest tonsillitis. Wishing her well xx

@Tabitha888 she's still poorly today, but not poorly enough for A&E. 111 haven't called back (nearly 30 hours since I called), so waiting for the GP to open tomorrow.

Hi everyone, thanks so much for asking! Thankfully the GP said viral. Phew! She had improved a lot today. She did give me a scare though, as at its worst she was so lethargic and just feeling dreadful. Definitely worth being vigilant about symptoms at the moment.

I'm so glad she's getting better. Checked in a few times. It's just scary atm. 💋 lots of hugs. Hope you are doing ok OP z
