I'd say DD has had the cough now for a week. Took her to GP and they listened to her chest and heart, couldn't find anything concerning so we are literally waiting it out with steamy showers and plenty of cuddles. She is also feeding well just extra sleepy.

Hand hold needed really, I hate to see her so poorly. Anyone have any idea from experience how long this may likely last for her?

Hey we are on week 10 of a cough. He had a chest infection just at the tails end he started coughing and hasn't stopped. I've tried vicks, honey, humidifier ect ect. I took him back to the gp 2 weeks ago and they have him steroids. They made no difference. I'm going to call again in the morning as it's affecting his sleep......🤦🏻‍♀️

@Mrsmch123 oh god sorry to hear this! Did they say what it is? Broncolitus or something similar? I've literally just been told it's a 'wet cough'.

can I ask how old yours is?

They thought it was croup but I wasn't convinced😅he's 17 months. It's horrible when they are unwell.

DS2 is also 5 months, his cough lasted 2 weeks. We missed baby swimming and the teacher said the class was empty that week so it’s obviously going around.

WorriedandScared93 · 30/11/2022 04:24

@tealandteal was he also congested? The cough is really wet. What did you do to make him more comfortable? Glad he's now ok.

Yes, poor thing was so congested as soon as I put him down I could hear him really struggling as his nose was blocked and he obviously didn’t know to open his mouth. Lots of sleepless nights holding him. Warm baths helped, and some baby vaporub on his chest before bed. He also fed a lot more.

WorriedandScared93 · 30/11/2022 04:35

@tealandteal exactly same with us. Did you find he was coughing and trying to find his breath after? I've been to gp and they've said they can't hear anything on chest despite being so poorly. I'm just a bit worried it's something else.
