Hand, foot and mouth?

Thursday my 4yo complained of a headache and had a temp, he was lethargic and the temp came back when calpol wore off. By Saturday no temp or headache and hyper again! Today I’ve noticed red spots around his nose and mouth and on the palm of hands. Does this seem like Hand foot and mouth?

Thanks! He’s totally fine in himself so nursery should be ok tomorrow I assume as already taken two days off with him!

Don’t be surprised if nursery don’t let you take him back tomorrow.

When my daughter had it she was like your son for a few days then it overnight (about three days in) developed into blisters everywhere and she was beside herself. We ended up with piriton syrup and then an anti fungal cream as she kept rubbing her hands and knees raw they were so itchy. She couldn’t sleep it was really hard going.

it is very contagious and whilst there is not set public health policy normally the incubation period is 5 days and generally your child should be free of any sort of fever etc before going back to school or nursery. Unlike chicken pox I don’t think all the blisters need to have gone so at least that’s something!

hope they don’t get too bad a case

It's doing the rounds at the moment. A colleagues niece had it & then I got an email from our nursery regarding a few cases.

It says on the email children aren't allowed to attend until all the blisters are healed over. So I wouldn't bank on attending tomorrow if the blisters are just starting to come out, sorry.

Checked nursery policy and it says no need to be off at all! Crazy but guess that’s why he got it!! Fingers crossed it isn’t worse tomorrow! How do people ever go to work with kids?! They’re always poorly!

Hand foot and mouth?
My 17 month old has had a fever on and off for 2 days, been extremely fussy and has come out with a rash on his face, hands and legs/feet, does this look like hand foot and mouth? the doctors said it was a viral infection yesterday but now this rash has come up too? Will be contacting them again in the morning just to double check.
