Raised prolactin levels in a teen boy

Just had son (15, developmental delays flagged up when younger, ASD dx) at GP for some blood tests as I was concerned about his energy levels and puberty delay. He is very slight and has no facial hair etc.

The results have shown an elevated level of prolactin, which is unusual in males. It seems to be linked to pituitary gland irregularities, even benign tumours.

Son has never had any genetic testing as part of his dx.

The GP said he would refer us to a paed. endocrinologist. There may be some wait.

Son is very tired and a bit disorientated in the morning, but doesn't suffer from sickness or headaches or eye problems, and his appetite is fine.

Does anyone have any experience of this, I am worried. Should I look into going private?
