Borderline FBC

4 YO had a blood test last week, due to one sided knee pain. X-ray came back ok. No other random symptoms. No fevers, rashes, tiredness, etc.

Results have come back 'borderline' but GP has not told me what about the FBC (full blood count) is borderline. I just had a voicemail left saying they'll be in touch in the next couple days.

Anyone had this before with their child?

Hey.
Having a siniliar exp with my DS who is 7. He has intermitent ache/pain in his right shin under his knee, and never at all in the left. Initially thought maybe growing pains but GP said it would be both legs.
He had an xray Monday and were awaiting results from that but hasn't had bloods done yet. GP was wondering whether the tissue in that part of his knee/shin was causing the problem. Its a mystery! X

Hey @Justwingingitox how did you get on with results? X

Hey @Justwingingitox how did you get on with results? X

Hey lovely. So regarding the knee, he xray seems normal. We have another face to face appt with the GP on the 28th and will discuss it further then. Has only mentioned the pain twice since my reply on your thread, so again, on and off. The only thing I think back to is growing pains.. but GP is certain it isn't. It can have him in tears when it's really bad.. so for now, I'm at a loss.
How are you getting on? Xx

@Justwingingitox so glad the results came back clear! Blood tests results here all clear which is great. Funny enough tonight she got all upset about it again just as she was going to sleep so gave some Calpol. It is a weird one, fine for weeks then all of a sudden it happens several times in a small period. I keep coming back to growing pains & that's what a Paediatrician told us he thought it was but honestly who knows. Reassured tests have come back all ok but still not solving the issue xx

@TurkeyTrouble I could of wrote that. It's honestly so weird. Never experienced it with my eldest. He's had growing pains but it's always been both legs and more obvious and constant, not in random splurges every so often and just the one shin/knee area. So bizarre isn't it. But the longer it goes on for, without knowing what's causing it or what it even is.. the more it's just frustrating. Slightly worrying - though I'm not panicked by no means as he's fine in himself otherwise really. Xx

Forgot to say, I'm also glad your results were clear. Great news - yet so mysterious!! Xx
