Today my son had an ultrasound as he had a lump in his testicle. It was found to be a hernia. However the consultant was so quick I didn't have a chance to ask any questions! He said a report will be sent to my gp and then to make an appointment within 7 days discuss. My question is, will my son need surgery ? I'm guessing he will but not sure what to expect 🤔 I'm nervous for him

@Lcw29 hi I know this was a few years ago but what was the outcome? My 2.4 month old was having check ups for a undecended testical last year but we was discharged and told it would come down on its own.. last week I saw 2 testicles but then a lump above the undescended one the dr was worried and didn't wanna see him until this Thursday in baby clinic but I managed to go to the drs the following day and the dr said it was either his sac are a hernia and referred us back to our pedestrian im loosing my mind with worry as the lump nor the testical is there now x

Hi there, he turned out to have a hydrocele. Eventually it sorted itself out but he needed regular checks.
