Ringworm

DC has had ringworm on scalp since around June this year. Didn't shift with over the counter cream, so went to GP who prescribed anti fungal steroid. It went then came back so GP prescribed another cream. Hasn't gone and the area has now raised into small lump. Visited GP again and they've now referred to paediatric dermatologist.

I was quite surprised as I thought they would prescribe oral anti fungal medication. Came away from the GP and researched and according to the NHS website and NICE guidelines GP should have prescribed oral ant fungal medication and shampoo.

Should I go back to the GP and refer to the NHS/NICE guidance and request the oral anti fungal treatment and shampoo. I'm concerned that the paediatric dermatologist appointment could take some time and the issue is only going to get worse in the meantime.
