Tonsillitis again…?

DD is nearly 4 and has had 2 previous bouts of tonsillitis this year which both cleared with antibiotics. The last bout was about 6 weeks ago and was quite scary; she had a cold that dragged on for over a week, very sniffly and congested, then suddenly spiked a 40 degree temp one evening and ended up with out of hours GP visit and antibiotics prescribed for tonsillitis.

DD has now had a cold for a week, and seemed to get better mid week. However, the sniffles have dragged on, she’s started complaining of a sore throat today, is eating a bit less and I can see some slight white dots on her tonsils. No temp and still playing etc but seems a bit tired and not quite 100%

Will take to GP on Monday if no better, but just wondering what other's experiences are of this? Anyone else’s tend to keep recurring this way? For context, I had my tonsils out as a kid and DH had chronic tonsillitis well into his 20’s so she doesn’t have much chance bless her!

I think that after 2 years of covid our immune systems are being overloaded. My youngest is never ill and yet she’s off school again with another virus. You have my sympathy OP
