Whitehead or abscess on child's big toe?

Can anyone help identify what this is? Child is 4. Thank you.

Verucca and too small shoes?
Is it hard or like a blister?

It looks very painful but she doesn't say it is. It looks poppable (sorry!) which obviously I'm not allowed to do (DH rule). Agree it might be small shoes, how can I treat it?

The toe looks red around it?
Could you soak the foot in salt water?
Plaster over it with a big glob of antiseptic cream on it?

Yeah I noticed the redness. It’s definitely not a small blister caused by rubbing on shoes? How long has she had it?

It's very painful to touch now she says. Could very well be from shoe rubbing. About to get it with a teeny tiny scalpel as she's almost asleep!

It looks like a verruca to me. maybe pop to the pharmacist tomorrow and get them to look?
