Genetic Testing. Wait or private?

Dd was referred in April for genetic testing. Still haven't heard anything but assume there's a backlog. It's tests for a specific health disorder but we need to know the strain she has as its different to me and my brother. We weren't tested but diagnosed on symptoms.

Has anyone had a long wait this year? Has anyone paid for private testing?

Is it urgent that you know from a health perspective?

No, not urgent but we'd like to know what strain as we're just assuming things are due to the disorder rather then knowing for sure.

If you have the money, go for it.

Otherwise I would wait

Follow up with your gp, they might be able to see how much longer
