How often does/did your 6 year old have vomiting/diarrhoea?

my 6 year old is ill again with vomiting/diarrhoea that started on Friday. He was last ill with this in the middle of September and has complained a few times since then of feeling sick, but he hasn’t actually been. It seems every every couple of months he is vomiting followed by diarrhoea and it seems too often to me. I’m thinking about taking him to the doctors to see if there is anything underlying…

My DD (7) doesn’t have vomiting often but has diarrhoea often as she’s celiac. She was experiencing heart burn regularly before her diagnosis, but since she’s been gluten free, she’s only had diarrhoea on and off. My DS (8) is awaiting an OGD outcome to see if he is coeliac but he’s the one who experiences tummy aches more than DD. However, neither of mine really have vomiting (DD was last sick in Feb 2021 and DS had a bug a few months ago).

It’s worth remembering that some children have had a real knock on their immune systems due to not experiencing common bugs during lock down. Does your son have multivitamin? I see a kinesiologist who recommended liquid zinc (tasteless drops in water) and it really has made a huge impact on DD - zinc is great for rebuilding the gastric system, so that would be my recommendation
