Reposting: My 2 year old started complaining of an ouchy bottom. It's is absolutely red raw round the bum hole and he's got quite a few spots that have developed over his buttocks.

I got Daktarin (miconazole) over the counter from the pharmacy but I chickened out continuing with it after it seemed to make it go a bit bloody overnight.

I went to the GP who was quite frankly shocking. She said try the cream again coz "hey you'll soon know if it's worse right?!" He was so distressed by the end of the appointment that I decided to go back to good old sudocreme.

I'm unable to post the picture as it's too graphic but essentially it's a red ring around the hole and pimples on the buttocks. If any one else has any thoughts I'd be very much appreciative.

Does sound like nappy rash. Absolutely another it on and If no difference tomorrow am then call gp again.

My experience of sudocreme is that it does actually work fairly quickly and so you should see a noticeable difference quickly.
