Body Odour 6 year old DD

DD is 6, a month off being 7 and has recently had a pungent body odour smell under arms after being active. She showers/bathes regularly. Just wondering if this is normal as I’ve never noticed it before? I’ve googled, but need real life mum’s knowledge! Ican’t remember how old I was… too long ago! Thanks!

6 is very young for smelly sweat - but no unheard of.

You say she bathes regularly, how regularly?

A friend’s daughter has this, no other signs of precocious puberty and the GP wasn’t concerned. It was just an anomaly
She started using a flannel and soap under her arms rather than shower gel, drying carefully and using a mild deodorant and it helped

That's what I thought. Bath or shower every other day. It's only when she's been active, but not all the time. I've noticed it about 3 or 4 times now, in the last couple of weeks.

We just use body wash at the moment. I always wash under her arms, but maybe need something a little stronger. I'll try the soap and flannel, possibly get some natural deodorant in. Thanks for your replies
