Chickenpox

My 1 year old has been unwell for a few days and came out with chickenpox spots yesterday so she's off nursery. My question is, do I need to keep my 3 year old home who currently has no symptoms at all?
Nursery asked me to keep her home today but I've been reading that it can take up to 2 weeks to incubate, and if that's the case, she could be off nursery for up to a month!
Just wondering what people normally do it this situation. Thanks!

You absolutely do not need to keep siblings who are well at home! That's utterly crazy. Pre-covid this wouldn't have been a thing... Your older child may not even catch it (although it is very likely). Hope you're CP-free soon.

@Scottishgirl85 Thanks for your reply, I thought it seemed a bit extreme! I'll give them a call back today...

Definitely don’t keep them at home. Yes they’ll catch chickenpox and yes they’ll be contagious but you don’t isolate them until they have spots

Thank you. I spoke to a manager today and she said she can go in. I think the member of staff I spoke to yesterday got a bit carried away 😁
