Tongue tie and colic

Hi! My 9 week old has a poster is tongue tie and we’re going to clinic in a couple of days to assess if it needs snipping. The issues we are having involve her not being able to keep a latch on the breast , she takes in a lot of air and is a gassy unhappy baby. She is classed as having colic. She’s not happy at the breast mostly. I’m wondering if anyone else had a happier baby after the tongue tie was snipped? Really hoping this could help ease some of her discomfort I'm really struggling with the constant crying and seeing her so uncomfortable . Thanks !

I'm going back a few years now, but yes tongue tie massively helped us.

Took a while for DS to get used to it, we were starting again with feeding positions and latches. But he was losing weight and unhappy feeding before that. This did completely change.

I would just make sure you're using a recommended practitioner and be prepared for some tears afterwards

Likewise. We didn’t see an immediate change but one week later it was SO much better.

DD was tracking her centile before TT snip so in theory was getting enough but post snip she went up centiles! And was a lot happier.

We also had other issues (fast let down mainly) so the TT didn’t solve everything but with the TT gone it was easier to try different positions etc to help with the let down.
